Dead fics recs post
Jun. 12th, 2021 09:17 pmThis recs post will be hosted only on my journal, and will be updated continuously as I add to my database, due to its unique content. All of the fics in it are fics in my database that are outright inaccessible now, mostly because the authors deleted their fics (and in most cases, accounts as well). (The links were left in so you know where they came from, but none of them can be accessed at those links, even via the Wayback Machine.)
This icon represents all of these fics, sadly:
Fics I tagged as favorites:
Fics I thought were exceptionally well-written:
WIPs:
(Icons come from the Icon pack by Icons8.)
Ratings are all converted to a single system for convenience:
Fanfiction.net - G through R
AO3 - PG through X (though the occasional child-friendly fic I mark G)
anything without a rating (AO3 or other site) - Unrated
I listed any ships I thought were major below each fic. If there are any minor/background ships or themes you want to avoid, please mention that when requesting fic (see the end of the post).
I included the author's original summaries (if they had any) below the ships. To the right of the list of ships, for some fics, is my personal commentary. I hope the two don't get confused. :)
( Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman )
( Push (2009) )
( The Matrix )
( Tomorrow When the War Began (book/film) )
All of these I have on my hard drive saved for re-reading purposes. I saved them in one or more of three formats (which one[s] depending on a number of factors): epub, html, and/or pdf. (Occasionally I have an mht file as well but given the low compatibility of that format, I doubt anyone wants it.)
If you want to read one of these fics, please send me a PM or leave a comment with the following:
- your email address (which can receive attachments)
- the fandom/author/title for the fic(s) in question
- if there are any ships or themes you want to avoid or be warned about (full list of themes can be found here)
- whether you want all of the formats or just one (and if only one, please list the three options in order of your preference, as that fic may not be available in your first choice of format)
Comments are screened so that you can leave a comment with your email address if you want. Comments with email addresses in them will not be unscreened to preserve privacy.
I hope this is useful to someone. :)
