Planning a Leverage con/heist
Jul. 10th, 2020 08:54 amI'm trying to analyze the elements of one so that I can even try to plot one for a fic. This is what I've come up with so far (input welcome):
1) a victim
2) a villain (who could either be the obvious boss guy / evil rich person or an underling)
3) the ultimate goal for the Leverage crew to achieve (discredit them? ruin their job? steal all their $$? all of the above?)
4) the key things needed to achieve that goal (account numbers? signature transferring power of the company? etc.)
5) a plan for how to get those key things
6) some way that the villain doesn't follow the initial plan and they have to switch to another one (at LEAST once - the number of times this happens is proportional to the amount of tension/angst)
I'm stumped at #1, lol. Thinking up stuff like this is hard! Anyone have any ideas they want to toss my way, feel free…
EDIT: Well, I came up with a victim (because I wanted a specific side plot thing to crop up for one of my chars to muse over) - a woman who runs a used book shop she took over from her father, who's now dead. The trouble is, I can't figure out #2 - *why* is she a victim and who made her that way… lol. Does it have to do with her father dying, or the business, or both? ARGH… :)
