This post is my complete list of recs in fandoms with fewer than 30 fics (as far as I've added them in my database). I will endeavor to keep it updated as new fics and fandoms are added to the database.

I have included my own fics in this post. Some I have marked as favorites (because I do re-read them from time to time!), and others I have not. None of them are marked as exceptionally well-written because I couldn't objectively evaluate my own work that way, even when I particularly like the way I wrote something. This recs post will be hosted only on my journal, and will be updated continuously as I add to my database, due to its unique content. All of the fics in it are fics in my database that are outright inaccessible now, mostly because the authors deleted their fics (and in most cases, accounts as well). (The links were left in so you know where they came from, but I'm reasonably sure that none of them can be accessed at those links, even via the Wayback Machine.)

It's nigh impossible to group fics by themes given the high overlap, but pulling all fics with a particular theme is a piece of cake. They're almost entirely gen, so suitable no matter what you ship (or don't). The first one was made with only part of the show; the other two use all five seasons so be warned if you're still working your way through the show for the first time.

In the Ayer by renenet
Possibly my favorite Leverage fanvid - the sync with musical beat, lyrics, and clip timing is fantastic, and it does great showcasing of each team member, matched perfectly to musical passages. All clips are from S1 to mid-S2 (it was made in 2010), which is even more amazing - they had so much less to work with than they would now.

Grifters by Geonn
This song couldn't be more perfect for Leverage, as you can see! It does have some Nate/Sophie - but about the way the show did, just part of things but not the sole focus.

Edge of Glory by jmtorres
This vid is all Parker jumping off things, and so perfectly matched to the whole theme of "the edge" and shows her sheer joy at being in the air. Parker x Gravity indeed. :D

In between all the craziness of my job (which is all hours because I'm mostly self-employed and I sell digital products online in addition to the in-person stuff), I read fic, of course. There's one I read for my database in the last few weeks, that I just can't get out of my head. I've re-read it probably five or six times now; it's that amazing. So I finally decided to post about it. :)

It's for the Matrix films, and is multiple POVs (most of them unique, but Ghost appears a few times) showing Neo and Trinity and their relationship from various eyes, set mostly chronologically from pre-film 1 to post-Revolutions. The end leaves me wanting to cry (it's post-Revolutions, so naturally), and at the same time loving them so much more. You want character exploration and depth, and the most beautiful view of a true romance, this is the fic to read.

A snippet that I love, of Trinity watching Neo sleep between his unplugging and going to see the Oracle:

He's very, very bright. People don't recognize it because they've not read the files carefully enough, and most wouldn't know what they'd seen if they had. It's not what he's done: it's how. Subtle. Lucid. Perfectionist. And that stripped down, elegant style says more than any showily obvious achievements ever could. He instinctively focuses on what matters, lets the irrelevant fall away, and knows which is which. So clean. It's vanishingly rare. And unerringly indicative. It's the essence of someone gifted.

People keep asking me, do I agree. Is Morpheus right. Is he the One. And I always evade, and defend, and avoid. I never answer.

And the truth is, I don't know.

And the other truth is, I want him to be.

I couldn't begin to quote all the bits of it that I love, so I'll just point you all to the fic itself: Green Rain by Chaotic

…are amazing. Seriously. So even though hardly anyone is going to see this (and I don't have enough recs here to make a real recs post), I have to post why they are awesome.

First, there is the FBI gift:

1,830 words of waffiness setting up Maggie's relationship with her husband till you can't help but feel the love between them, and then the phone call comes in with a WHAM and smashes her life to pieces, leaving you aching for her. Beautifully done!

And then there's the Cybergeddon treat I got in Madness:

I Saved the World and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt
1,263 words of post-saving the world fic that feels SO spot on for characterization. There's Rabbit banter and the complicated relationship with her mom and references to Gustov still being out there… I also love that in this fic Chloe sticks to her guns with her decisions and doesn't take Frank back because he insisted she put him ahead of her career. (I often want the reverse with a ship - but this one doesn't feel like it deserves that kind of choosing-each-other-first - they just aren't that solid or that committed for it.) This is such a fantastic fic! (and the title is hilariously perfect)

I got kind of obsessed with Rookie Blue this summer. (Some of my online friends might well ask "Kind of?" with great skepticism, and rightfully so.) The result was that I created a spreadsheet of all the fics I downloaded and saved from AO3, Fanfiction.net, and anywhere else (LJ comms, you name it). As I did so, I made notes of my favorite fanfics, and decided to create a recs post with all 181 of them.

Disclaimer: This is NOT a master list of all the well-written fics out there. Inclusion on this list does require a minimum level of writing quality (though a few on this list push that a bit), but more importantly to me, there has to be a certain something that grabs me, whether it be the wording, the intensity of the emotion, a plot element, something. Whatever it is, it makes me want to re-read the fic, so I figured it might prove interesting to someone else.

The fics below are organized into different groups, starting with episode-focused stories.

For each group, I've selected one fic as the "if you only read one fic for this group, read this one" choice, to be marked with this icon:

One author deserves special mention for having every single one of their stories in my favorites list: balladofbliss. You can't go wrong with any of their fics; they're all absolutely outstanding! Runner-ups (writers with high numbers or percentages of fics on the list) are Annie Blythe, ADI2DE, Cendari (Ff.n / AO3), and surreallis.

This might be useful for anyone who just wants a good fic in a certain category, no matter the fandom. Everything is cut so if you don't want to see a particular category, just be sure to view this from the page for this date, and expand only the categories you want. I'll add more fics to this as I find them or think of them. This list is by no means all-inclusive; absence of a fic on it only means that fic has not come to my mind yet as an outstanding example of a particular category, though it may be well-written.

I'm going to start forgetting my favorite X-Men fics, in the mound of them that I'm reading, so I'm going to list them here along with links so they can always be found--and so I can share, when I decide this post is done. All of the below are ones that I re-read over for some reason, or that struck me really hard when I first read 'em, or were excellent treatments of an idea or a situation, or that were just funny good ones that had to be shared.
